My name is Janet Zhang. It’s currently my 6th year of being an AEF trustee. Both my daughter and son graduated from Arcadia High School.  

I learned about AEF through a friend from Dana PTSA a number of years ago. During my two years serving on the executive board at Dana PTSA, I also learned about how public schools are funded in California using the Local Control Funding Formula. It came to my realization that our school district simply does not receive sufficient funding from the State for the great education we all want for our students, and there is no obvious path to get more public funding. Therefore, we, the parents, need to do what we can to help bridge the funding gap in order to better support our teachers and students. I feel that AEF plays an important role in bringing the parents and community together to stand behind our schools.

I am here to do what I can to help support the teachers and students of AUSD. Arcadia has wonderful schools. The parents before me helped to foster a great learning environment for my students. I hope to keep the good tradition and pass on maybe something even better to the current and future parents.
